To begin, if you don't know either: the Vietnam War, Hmong people, and General Vang Pao, please do not bother to read or reply. I would not bother to agrue with someone who doesn't know anything. Feel free to google first before reply to this.

Anyhow, everyone should probably know by now about what happened to Genernal Vang Pao. To make it simple, he was accused of a plot to overthrow Laos communism. He was arrested last Monday in Sacramento, California, (my home for freaking sakes) with 9 others. I was wondering what do you guys think of this? I know it's not important to several of you. Please give me something to think about.

I have my own opinion. I am hmong and I am proud for who I am. It did break my heart knowing he was arrested for something he does not know of. As a matter of fact, I met the man myself. He is a peaceful man. He is trying to help the hmong people in Laos from being hunted by the the Laos communism by asking the US to put a stop to it. As you know, they don't care about my race. General Vang Pao would not dare to have another war in Laos. There isn't enough hmong people in America to go to war. He does not have enough money to do anything for hmong people. It's impossible. He does want to take his people back to Laos, but the communist are using hmong people in a secret genocide experiment. How do I know this? I've been told myself from those who has survived it.

I see it as another act from the US government. I don't know what their plans are. I truly believe in my heart, our hmong General is a pure soul who stands for the word peace. He has helped my people and many americans soldiers during the Vietnam War and sacrificed so much in order to live peacefully. He has made an impact on so many people's lives. Hmong people are not terrorists. How can you call an ally a terrorist who helped you save your own people during the Vietnam War is something I would call it as ignorance and absolute deception. This would also prove America is not longer "Free" and does not intend to keep any promises they made with their allies of any kind. I would not want to talk about what happened 40 years ago during the Vietnam War. It was a pointless war and does not want to be rewrriten twice in history especally since America did lose that war.

It's written in History what they have done to my own race and it took a while before the US finally recognized the Hmong soliders for their efforts. My race is shattered throughout the world in the aftermath. The people who were arrested are those who were with General Vang Pao during the Vietnam War. Funny coincidence I might say.

If he was plotting to overthrow the Laos government. He knows he could not win. Everyone know this. I pray he is found innocent for someone else's actions. I can't bare enough to even sit here and do nothing.

I pretty much agree that accusing an ally of conspiracy is the ultimate in betrayal. He already proved his loyalty by fighting for the U.S in the war. He still risked his life despite the odds, for America. If that isn't enough proof of loyalty, I don't know what is.

Also, last I checked, I thought America hated Communism. I can't understand why they would charge the general, and what proof they have to even bother.

So far, after looking it up, it looks like everyone is on his side. I think the Hmong people should protest. I'm not sure if they should protest because of his arrest or after the wrong verdict but protesting can really help the man out, no matter what.

If illegal immigrants can protest and intimidate the government into giving something like amnesty, then support from the Hmong community can influence the trial a great deal.

I agree with both of you. I don't have a lot to say since you guys already took my word. And yes, I thank your people, Genious, for helping out in the Vietnam war. So I really do hope that things turn out good in the end.

Since I'm Hmong myself, I've heard alot about this story.

My parents feel very strongly on this story and I dont really know what to say to them. After hearing what they said, they just don't like how they betrayed GVP like that.
