How Do You Know?

So how do you know when you're in love? How can you distinguish between obsession/crush and love?

Well honestly I'm unsure. I'm sure any relationship I had left bitterness on both sides and that same thing affects my answer. I think I know I'm in love when I actually want to MARRY someone.

Obsession doesn't involve love. It's just compulsive, repetitive - holds no ground, irresponsibility/carelessness from being overdone... has no structure... that's what I think of.

A crush is... slight interest, I guess.

Love is when you'd have no doubt for how you feel about the person.

Well... the difference then is... the lack of responsibility within the "relationship".

Ok, obsession is not love. It's more of a unreasonable emotion or feeling rather than love. Crush last for less than a week. It doesn't considered to be called Love if you have no interest later on. Love is something like affection deep inside your gut or in your heart towards the person. It's more like when you see the person, your heart is beating twice than it should be.

You know, stalkers and weird people who're obsessed describe their obsession in the same way as you guys describe love. I guess most believe the same definition but have different ways of applying it.

The description of love might match up with what some psycho says because it isn't difficult to have no doubt for how you feel about some person BUT what separates love from obsession to me is the responsibility; how much is considered... to have some limits and standards... team effort rather than this habit of believing it doesn't deserve reasoning/consideration or respect or some sort of structure. There is no gray area between the two there for me.

Obsession is like if a girl falls in love with a guy and he doesn't love her. She tries to make him love her by force. Love is when 2 people are loving each other.

love = willing to give up for the other

maybe? but like rigor said, often love and obsession are described the same way.
