Here I'll teach you how to create banner with old-paper background( including effects).

I used a picture from one of thw Simmons Twins. I blended it with old paper picture. If you don't know how to do it just ask me. To have even nicer effect, for the picture of Simmon Twin( Wyatt in Charmed ) I set the Opacity and Fill somewhere to 50 % or little lower( depends on which picture you use) or even a little bit higher.
Once you done that, choose Text tool and for this you will need old-century-write handing text...look at mine picture. Type something. I used for the first capital letter another cool font so it can look like real letter to someone. You can set the Opacity for the text tool to 60 % or you don't have to.
Now save the picture.
Locate it and again open it. Unlock the layer. If you don't know how to do it press two times on the lock next to the layer thumbnail in the Layer Window.
Got to Layer > Layer Style > Stroke.
Select 3 pixels for the size of it and select Inside. For the color choose #D6AB37. If you don't want it use some other lighter or darker orange-brown. I also used brushes and the same color to get nice effect. Hope you like it.
BTW, you can add Vivid Light for the picture or you don't have too. I added to mine and it was really light like some old ruined paper.
