Dont know is I should put this in news or Video Games...
I read it somewhere..I forgot...But A Man From Tokyo died from playing "Starcraft" non stop for 49 Hours. No food, no water, no sleep, no breaks, a couple bathroom breaks only.
I guess this proves how addicting games can be.Its just a pity that he died such a stupid death...

I stay away from those games that take over people's lives. (things like World of WarCraft)
I have no sympathy for the guy. At least he died happy.

Me niether, I mean playing for a couple hours is a different story, but more then 4 hours straight without moving is getting a little ridiculous.

DAMN STARCRAFT!!! I was in its spell before i played it 10 hours straight one time but im not gunna do that agen (because i lost the disk and hacked to much in the game) so yeah its a very addicting game actualy i used to make complex maps and movies with starcraft realy fun but yeah i got through 10 hours by eating and going to the washroom so actualy it was like doing the basic things while playing on the computer.

I go a little over 11 hours if I'm determined or if it's that good... But not without ignoring the calls of nature. I'd have to be full and really not needing the bathroom to do it without going anywhere.
I remember going 8 hours without eating or going to the bathroom. I won't be doing that again. @_@
I love starcraft man...but the most I ever played straight is like 2-3 hours...but I took like breaks once in a while.
I like creating the maps as well...it's pretty cool. And i like the cheat codes...but then I lost the serial number so I couldn't play it anymore...LOL...I think I still got the copy disk somewhere, not sure...
Abou tthe guy though...that's pretty f__king crazy. Damn, that's hella crazy. I feel bad for the person who got him that game and his parents and family. That's just too much man.
However I heard that some guy was so addicted to ever quest online that he had to be fed through a tube, and had to wear diapers because he refuse to go to the bathroom and eat...

Dam I remember playing Starcraft, I was always the Zerg spicies/tribe/thing, but yeah, it was really adicting, till I broke the CD from bordedom, and after starcraft I ended up getting adicted to...can't remember, long time since, and once I got cable, I ended up going to RO, played all the time, 2 years man, 2 years...from the begining school year, to summer, stopped RO when all I did was grind for long just to get a high lvl character. And once I got my DS on christmas, I just got addicted on Ouendan, but I beat the whole thing already, so nothing to go crazy on now. But yeah, I feel sorry for the guy, imagine being his mother and seeing your son dead on his desk with the computer still on:
*Opens door* "How long have you been playing?" Dead body dosn't move "Are you sleeping...?" *Pokes with broom* dead body falls over and dosn't move. "OMG!!" heart attack.
lol hell yeah that would suck so bad. LOL. But hey, starcraft was one hell of a game...it was hella fun and addicting. It's my favorite computer game of all time. It's that freakin good.
But yea man, that dude is one creazy mofo.

that's funny, but sad too.. dang, again.. what a way to die.. at least, he's happy, but he'll be mad when he finds out he didn't defeat the game.. i know i would..

Haha, yeah, he died happy. =) That's good. But man, playing games and not starving? Haha, if I was to play an addicting game straight, I would call someone to get some snacks in my room and pay my brother to do my chores and homework. Maybe like ask the Japanese to create an android that replicates my image and intelligence to go to school and stuff. =D

South Korea, one of the most wired countries in the world, has a large and highly developed game industry.
And I thought it was in Japan...

I could of sworn that it was in Japan and that he died while playing Starcraft...
I think these are 2 different cases...The article that you've provided doesnt say anything about Starcraft...

That's right! it doesn't mention starcraft..
Atleast he died doing something he loved...
There's passion and then there's the unhealthy, utterly compulsive obsession.

Oh man, back when I was WAY into RO, I always played it, once I played it for so long I almost passed out due to lack of freshair and food and water.
